MEP Superintendent

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:   The MEP Superintendent roll is to provide on-site supervision and quality control for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, construction, start up, and testing, for Clayco projects. This role also provides document review, responds to scope modification evaluations during construction, successful completion of construction projects to meet time and cost objectives with respect to quality, contracts, and scheduling. Observe work in the field and compare to drawings to insure details are installed per the drawings and specifications.    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Intimate knowledge of the MEPFP Plans, systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule. Hands-on role of daily interaction with the MEPFP subcontractors to verify installation meets project requirements, the intention of the plans / specifications, is coordinated for proper and code required access, as well as verification that the installation scope of work is meeting schedule.  Close interaction with the project Superintendent is required and any necessary resolution to coordination with other trades, manpower, or schedule is also expected for this position.  Provide input on jobsite logistics, organization, layout, coordination of piping, equipment for all trades and manpower utilization. Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction. Validate design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions. Review of approved MEP submittals and verification approved equipment is delivered on-site. Assist in scheduling and expediting the delivery of materials and equipment for their timely on-site delivery. Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of subcontractors and suppliers. Obtain, or see that the subcontractors obtain, all necessary permits for temporary and construction purposes. Coordinate the MEP works on site with the activities of inspection agencies as necessary through installation, testing, commissioning, handover and acceptance phases. Assist securing all equipment guarantees, warranties and service/maintenance agreements. Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order. Assist in Quality Control process of the installation of MEP work. Work with Project management team to direct, monitor and oversee the activities of MEP Subcontractor. Coordination and administration of MEP related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals. Liaison with Consultant MEP Engineers, Inspectors and relevant staff. Handle job labor relations and maintain EEO compliances. Ensure that MEP Subcontractors provides and adheres to relevant Quality documentation/records. Ensure that MEP Subcontractors adheres to Project safety regulations. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:   Education/Experience/Attributes Minimum of 5 plus years' experience in the field or building mechanical/electrical/plumbing/fire protection systems.   Knowledge of MEPFP field requirements through experience and supplemental training courses  Knowledge of air and water testing/adjusting/balancing procedures and expectations. Strong knowledge in fire alarm systems  Working knowledge of low voltage communication systems and security (card readers/cameras, etc.) Working knowledge of architectural, structural, civil documents to understand how the MEPFP systems are integrated into the building Good understanding of Specifications Divisions and where to go in the various sections in coordinating responsibilities and various testing and documentation requirements of the project  Understanding of the many common Codes for Building, Plumbing, NFPA (fire, electrical, etc.), Mechanical, and Life Safety Strong working knowledge relationship with computers, laptops, iPad type instruments, Microsoft Office, various M/E industry "Apps" PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   Requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Works on-site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk to electrical shock. Noise level is usually moderate to very loud.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
