Regional Datacenter Director

Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (MCIO) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). At the forefront of the action in MCIO is our Datacenter Operations Group! As a Regional Datacenter Operations Director, you will have an opportunity to lead and manage a dynamic team of datacenter industry professionals whom operate, deploy, and maintain the critical environments and IT infrastructure of Microsoft?s datacenters.

Responsibilities
You will drive the delivery of global initiatives supporting your facilities, which will be located across multiple states and/or countries, as you interact and maintaining relationships with various authorities and partners across all sectors of the datacenter industry. Facilities ranging from single large capacity sites/campuses, to many smaller locations -- all built on the cutting edge of datacenter industry design and equipment -- will depend on your keen business acumen and financial management skills to operate cost effectively, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and ecological responsibility. Excellent interpersonal awareness, ability to navigate ambiguity, and your mature communication skills will be pivotal in bringing your program management, technical abilities, and leadership experiences to a whole new level in supporting Microsoft?s success!
Qualifications
+ 7+ Years? experience operating in mission-critical, 24x7x365 datacenter and facility critical environment infrastructures (e.g. Electrical Distribution, Mechanical Cooling Systems, etc.)
+ 7+ Years? experience working on large enterprise, web, or cloud scale projects and programs
+ 5+ Years' experience in managing large vendor multi-year contracts and operating entities
+ 5+ Years' experience in leading, directly managing, and influencing a diverse organization of full-time employees, across multiple disciplines and platforms
Preferred:
+ BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, Telecommunications, Business Management, Accounting, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent experiences
+ Exceptional ability to collaborate, openly communicate, present, and negotiate effectively across groups of various levels and disciplines, such as government entities, senior company leaders, engineers, suppliers, partners, technicians, customers, etc.
+ Demonstrated experience delivering results with ambiguous and changing business requirements, with strong ability to work independently in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
+ Strategic thinking skills with deep understanding of industry & technological capabilities, and how to apply them to achieve business results
+ Strong working knowledge of physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling etc.)
+ Established track record of effective fiscal management capability and stewardship of Capital & Operating budgets ? Willingness to support a flexible travel schedule (up to 40%)
+ Experience or solid understanding of multi-state, multi-country, or federal-level labor laws and employment conditions & requirements
+ Background or capability with building design & construction principles and/or management ? Supply chain, asset management or logistics background and experience
+ Awareness of IT Service Operations fundamentals and principles. (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.)
+ Previous experience with MS Cloud Services and Platforms (e.g. Windows Azure, Office 365, etc.)
+ Project or program management experience and certification(s) (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen, PMI, etc.)


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
